Gary Green – Managing Director

Gary originally set up Linaker (Birmingham) Ltd in 1987 when he was just out of short trousers.  Following a management buy-out from the Linaker Group in 2004, he formed Linaker Green from 1st January 2005.

Gary’s interests range from travelling (some say the farther away the better) to 19th Century art and certain aspects of Kylie Minogue.  Spurning his original ambition to be a test pilot for Airfix, Gary opted for the exciting world of insurance in his late teens and has been trying to grow up ever since.

Ellie Dunn

Since joining in 1998, Ellie has been unable to make a mistake (or so she tells us) and her skills include an ability to solve any problem and to flirt outrageously with clients and insurance company staff alike. In view of this Ellie was made a Director of the company from 1st January 2009.

Away from insurance, Ellie’s main interests are keeping an eye on her husband and her two children.

Ellie is a Sudoku grand master, third dan.

Becky Malthouse

Becky joined the Company in 2002 and is currently on maternity leave but will return in April 2012

Despite a drink problem, Becky’s sunny personality and winning smile have endeared her to all.  Her hobbies include nail art and Chav spotting.

James Wainwright BSc (Hons)

James joined the company in 2007.  A graduate with a 2.1 degree in English and American studies (he denies this is where the term “Mickey Mouse degree” arises) he has proved a  valuable addition to the team, despite being too tall compared to the rest of the staff.

Hailing from Wolverhampton, James is a keen supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC,  the local drinks industry and anything in a skirt (in the words of the great philosopher Mr M Loaf “two out of three ain’t bad”).

April Hughes

April has been with the Company since December 2005 and provides secretarial services.  Despite speaking in a strange Black Country dialect and using Anglo Saxon terms in the office she has proved a great asset to the Company.  The photocopies she took at the office Christmas Party sell on eBay for in excess of £200 each.
 

Abi Shellis BA (Hons)

Abi joined the company in 2011 having previously worked for us as a temp whilst she was a student. She gained a BA (Hons) in Philosophy (2:1) and came on a graduate training scheme which involved a small carrot and a large stick. Her computer skills are legendary. She recently lost a chess match to a computer but it was no match for her in the kick boxing competition that followed.

Montgomery Clift

At no time has Mr. Clift ever worked here due to the fact that he was an actor noted for his portrayal of moody, sensitive young men, plus a) he knows nothing about insurance and b) he died in 1966.
